You will want to set the center of the water closet flange 12 inches from the finished back wall. Do not measure from the base moulding! Take this measurement from the finished wall.Now, if you are measuring from stud walls, add in the thickness of your wall. Most people install 1inch drywall. And if that is the case, this measurement needs to be 13 inches (measured from a stud wall).
