Encumbrance is anything that lessons the bundle of rights in real property. Most encumbrances attach to real property and are interests in the property that create debt or give use and or control to another. Examples of encumbrances are encroachments, appurtenances, easements, leases, liens, assessments, and restrictive covenants.
