Minnesota Life and Health Insurance Agent Exam
Need of a License: An individual who is acting as an agent or producer needs a license to sell life and health insurance in Minnesota.
Who Grants a License: Licenses are granted by the Minnesota Department of Commerce.
Qualifications to receive a License: Individuals who wish to obtain an insurance license in the State of Minnesota:
1. Be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
2. Be a resident of Minnesota.
3. Complete required prelicense education requirements.
4. Complete the fingerprinting requirement.
5. Pass the examination.
6. Apply for a license.
Prelicense Education Requirements: Applicants must satisfactorily complete an approved course of education in the fields of insurance for which they apply before they may be licensed. Fingerprinting Requirement: All candidates must be fingerprinted and submit to background checks. It is strongly recommended to be electronically fingerprinted at one of the PSI Minnesota site, during regular testing hours, on the day of your exam.

For the fastest and most convenient examination scheduling process, PSI recommends that you register for your examination using the Internet. You register online by accessing PSI’s registration website at www.psiexams.com.
Test Information: The Minnesota Department of Commerce has contracted with PSI Services LLC (PSI) to conduct the examination testing. PSI provides examinations through a network of computer examination centers in Minnesota. PSI works closely with the State to be certain that examinations meet local as well as national requirements in basic principles and examination development standards. Your score will be given to you immediately following completion of the examination. You will have three hours to take the Life, Accident and Health Producer Exam.
